Lou Dobbs leaves CNN, Fox News gets giddy.

What's fat, racist and has a neck that looks like its baking bread?

Well, it’s official. After an extensive media campaign against Loud Dobbs, Media Matters and several other Latino groups have come out victorious. Loud Dobbs announced tonight on his cable news show that he was leaving and it was effective immediately. During the unexpected announcement he takes some shots at his aggressors by claiming that the “times have changed” which is code for, “I can’t use the word nigger anymore.”

Dobbs goes on to claim that he will be leaving to pursue other avenues where he hopes he can affect real change. Fox News has claimed that they have not spoken to Dobbs, but I give it no less than a month before you see his hydrocephalic head next to Glenn Becks.

Media Matters released a statement on their site DropDobbs.com and welcomed the change in cable news crackpottery.

Washington, DC – Media Matters for America released the following statement responding to late breaking news that controversial CNN host Lou Dobbs, best known for his relentless anti-immigrant rhetoric, will be leaving his long-time cable news home effective tonight.

“For too long, CNN provided Lou Dobbs with its stamp of approval as he pursued a dangerous, one-sided and all too often false conspiracy tinged crusade against immigrants,” said Eric Burns, president of Media Matters. “This is a happy day for all those who care about this nation of immigrants and believe in the power of media to elevate the political discourse.”

Let me be the first to say that it couldn’t have happened to a nicer racist.
