In a move to capitalize on appearing inclusive and open minded, Best Buy’s latest Black Friday ad includes a nod to the Muslim holiday Eid-Al-Adha which falls on Friday.
For those of you like me who know nothing of the holiday, Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid”, is a holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God.
Eid al-Adha is the latter of two Eid festivals celebrated by Muslims, whose basis comes from the Quran. [1] Like Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha begins with a short prayer followed by a sermon (khuṭba).
Eid al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar. The festivities last for three days or more depending on the country. Eid al-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat. It happens to be approximately 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.
You can learn more about the Muslim holiday with all those little links and goodies here.
Best Buy however is seeing some back lash from many consumers who have stated their displeasure with Best Buy for it’s move as well as it’s recently announced decision to no longer use “Merry Christmas” in its flyers.
Conservative watchdog/witch hunt groups such as the American Family Association set their sights on Best Buy back in 2006 after the retailer said it would replace “Merry Christmas” with “Happy Holidays” in its ads. Despite it’s obvious despicable and un-American behavior, Best Buy claims they haven’t abandoned Patriotic Jesus completely. “Merry Christmas” can still be found on store gift cards and online. The AFA has not commented on the latest ad as of yet.
Recently, the AFA called for a boycott of GAP, Inc. for not using Christianity’s favorite word, “Christmas”, in their holiday sales advertisements. No official statement was made by GAP Inc. in response to the stupidity of AFA’s boycott however days later this “paganistic” commercial, which includes cheerfully choreography references to Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and Solstice as well as Christmas, was released.
You can just feel the seething hated toward Christianity and everything that is good and decent in this world.
I don’t know about you folks, but it just makes me sick. I will never buy a Half-Zip Cable-Knit sweater or Performance Fleece Hoodie from those Satanists again!
Praise White Jesus!

Wow…. I am at a loss for words…. seriously.
I just don’t know how someone, let alone so many, could be so ignorant of the world around them. I believe there are too many gems in this video to use one or two that would actively portray the terrifying stupidity of these people. Watching this video is like watching a newsman report on mass hysteria at a special education school. These people have no right to call themselves Americans and I don’t care how horrible this may sound, but we need to implement laws that dictate an extensive amount of education be reached before one is allowed to vote, or even possibly reproduce.
Stupid people are everywhere and there are plenty of unintelligent nobs that voted for Obama, yet grasp the same educational level of these Wal Mart mouth breathers. The only difference?
Obama doesn’t mirror the lesser of his base, Sarah Palin does.
After watching this video I wonder if a Socialist, Marxist,Leninist is the same thing as an obese, Caucasian, skinny, black guy.
I hope that Palin runs, effectively drawing even more of the Republican base away from whatever old white guy they throw up there.
“When you are right, you don’t have to compromise.” I think this sums up the arrogance of our lazy nation quite nicely.

It seems that everyone that runs our government has the intelligence of a 3 year old child… a child who has been in a coma for the last 2 years of its life.
That just may be an understatement as well.
In a bizarre move to “sniff out” worthy conservative politicians, Republican leaders have released a set of ideals that they feel every politician must ascribe to if they wish to have any political backing from the RNC. The political resolution reads like a spoiled child’s response to a firm punishment, one they justly deserved. While I would gladly agree that Obama has been a lack luster leader, he is in no way a socialist. The only socialism that Obama supports is the same corporate socialism that Bush and the Republicans practiced for the past 8 years.
It must be wonderful to have so little integrity and no sense of history. I can only imagine the shit one can get away with when you are able to forget about it moments later.
The “Proposed RNC Resolution on Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates” follows:
WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan believed that the Republican Party should support and espouse conservative principles and public policies; and
WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan also believed the Republican Party should welcome those with diverse views; and
WHEREAS, President Ronald Reagan believed, as a result, that someone who agreed with him 8 out of 10 times was his friend, not his opponent; and
WHEREAS, Republican faithfulness to its conservative principles and public policies and Republican solidarity in opposition to Obama’s socialist agenda is necessary to preserve the security of our country, our economic and political freedoms, and our way of life; and
WHEREAS, Republican faithfulness to its conservative principles and public policies is necessary to restore the trust of the American people in the Republican Party and to lead to Republican electoral victories; and
WHEREAS, the Republican National Committee shares President Ronald Reagan’s belief that the Republican Party should espouse conservative principles and public policies and welcome persons of diverse views; and
WHEREAS, the Republican National Committee desires to implement President Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates; and
WHEREAS, in addition to supporting candidates, the Republican National Committee provides financial support for Republican state and local parties for party building and federal election activities, which benefits all candidates and is not affected by this resolution; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Republican National Committee identifies ten (10) key public policy positions for the 2010 election cycle, which the Republican National Committee expects its public officials and candidates to support:
(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill;
(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run healthcare;
(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing, denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership; and be further
RESOLVED, that a candidate who disagrees with three or more of the above stated public policy positions of the Republican National Committee, as identified by the voting record, public statements and/or signed questionnaire of the candidate, shall not be eligible for financial support and endorsement by the Republican National Committee; and be further
RESOLVED, that upon the approval of this resolution the Republican National Committee shall deliver a copy of this resolution to each of Republican members of Congress, all Republican candidates for Congress, as they become known, and to each Republican state and territorial party office.

Now, obviously I have a lot of questions about this “resolution.” Let’s tackle them, shall we?
How does one support a ‘small government’ that stays out of our personal lives, while you actively petition the government to interfere in the private lives of its citizens? A small and liberty loving government cares not about gay marriage.
Where was all of this fiscal responsibility when they lied their way into two wars? Where was the concern for financial accountability when they ran up our countries largest debt, IN HISTORY?
How would a “market based’ solution to our energy policy work? As it stands now, this free market approach is demonstrated when big oil shuts down alternative energy sources and climate change evidence, by using all of the money they gained from said market. Allowing a market based solution to the energy problem is akin to asking a child molester to babysit and keep an eye on his sexual proclivity.
Market based heath care reform? See above.
Who doesn’t support victory in Iraq or Afghanistan? The question is, how does one acquire said victory and what does victory entail? Claiming you support victory in a war is like claiming you support your right to win the lottery. Once again, plenty of pretty words and talking points, no solutions.
Nuclear weapons are definitely an issue in the evolving world, but how do you talk of controlling them without bringing up your own personal nuclear weapon stockpiles? Stockpiles you are opposed to decreasing.
Defense of Marriage. Ban divorce, outlaw cheating and require all marriages to be religious in nature. Otherwise this is utter nonsense and another talking point.
I wont even bother wasting my time with the last health care point, especially considering Republicans have done nothing to extend coverage to those who are unable to afford it. It’s hard to considering yourself anything but “denied” health care, when health care is too expensive to purchase.
My advice?
Change the name of your party to, “The national party of men who wish they could have fucked Ronald Reagan, but were too busy ruining the country to do so.”
If you are a Republican, your party is a mess and until you ask for something else, you are responsible for this nonsense.

Yay! Change I can believe in!.. dying hurts
In a rather unsurprising and disheartening decision, President Obama has decided against signing a land mine treaty that would ban the use, production or trade of the weapon. What is even more disappointing is that he is continuing a Bush era policy and doing his damnedest to become a one term president.
This is not the man I voted for and it’s becoming more and more apparent than Obama is way out of his league and a poor leader. Although, he does lead quite well when it comes to handing out billions to banks and the undeserving. I guess that counts for something.
Statement from the State Department-
State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said Tuesday that the administration recently completed a review and decided not to change the Bush-era policy.
“We decided that our land mine policy remains in effect,” he said.
More than 150 countries have agreed to the Mine Ban Treaty’s provisions to end the production, use, stockpiling and trade in mines. Besides the United States, holdouts include: China, India, Pakistan, Myanmar and Russia.
Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., criticized the State Department’s review of the land mine policy as “cursory and halfhearted.”
The senator described the decision to stand fast on the current policy as “a lost opportunity …. The United States took some of the earliest and most effective steps to restrict the use of land mines. We should be leading this effort, not sitting on the sidelines.”
Looking at the list of fellow countries who has not signed the ban, I have to say we are keeping great company.
Nearly 19 million mines and explosives have been removed from war torn areas since 1999 and nearly 4,000 people were wounded or killed by them in the last year alone. These weapons are left behind when a country is no longer interested in fighting its wars and they have little plans in place to remove them. Innocent children, villages and animals are often the victims of these explosives, many times leaving their unintended targets missing limbs.
Antipersonnel mines were first used on a wide scale in World War II. Since then they have been used in many conflicts, including in the Vietnam War, the Korean War, the first Gulf War. Precursors of the weapon are said to have first been used in the American Civil War in the 1800s.
I find it very difficult to support any military personnel when they employ such barbaric weapons and it’s even harder to admit that a man who once promised such great change, is turning out to be a slightly more capable leader than the old man and Palin.
It may be that Obama’s continuing failures are begining to wear on me, but as it stands now, I would never have voted for this man and I hope he is a one term president. This is just disgusting.

I am hoping this a joke, as I can not find anything that offers information about this group. I have no idea. It would seem that if this is not a joke, Christians have found another way to be socially awkward and even less relevant in the cool department. I am hoping this is real, not because of any personal feelings towards religion, but because this would be an entire week of awesomeness!
Don’t do that front hug, yo it’s awkward! Pull up on that Christian Side Hug lest your crotches touch!
The only reason I think this could be real is because I have been to churches where this kind of nonsense was peddled. In a sad and misguided attempt to look “cool” there is no end to the stupidity at which old white people will go.

These images may be NSFW, depending on your tastes. There is no nudity, but there is suggestive imagery. Scroll down at your own risk.

I have traveled across the world in search of adventure, dragons and sweet ass.
There has been a slow increase of gay characters and gay themes in video games of late. Just this year the Sims 3 introduced the idea of gay marriage, although same sex relationships had been a part of the game mechanics since the original.
The last game I had played, in which you could make your character homosexual, was Fable. The ensuing sex scenes, although they faded to black, had some comical, if not misleading, audio. I have never once heard anyone utter the words, “Oh, it’s so big” to me during the act of love making. I have also never used the term “love making” before tonight.
This video is from Fable 2, but it illustrates the point.
However, all of that is old news as Dragon Age: Origins includes a full on sex scene. Yes… a gay sex scene.
“Dragon Age” is the name given to the time period in which the game takes place. It was named so because, at the beginning of the age, dragons re-appeared in the world after being thought extinct. The game is not all about dragons, though of course dragons do play a role in the story. Dragons are rare and dangerous creatures, and their fantastical nature is evocative of what our game is all about – hence the title.
The video is pretty graphic for a game, although it doesn’t show anything. It does, however, rely on a lot of suggestion.
After watching the video several questions had been answered for me. I had long believed all elves to be bottoms and now I know.
However. I am left with one question?
Are all of the Elves in Dragon Age from the gayest part of Spain? If so… boo.

Let me preface this article by saying I, in no way, intend to portray both sides of this argument with a neutral eye. I believe it does a great disservice to truth when we attempt to be objective about every subject. There is no more journalistic integrity in portraying the “positives” of reparative therapy than there is in being neutral on the subject of segregation.

Whitney Weddell
A recent news piece from KGET channel 17 delves into the myths about “reparative therapy“, that is, the idea that homosexuality can be cured through faith and any other number of unproven and potentially dangerous methods. The idea of repairing or changing someones sexuality may seem as comical as praying for lighter skin or changing ones ethnicity, however, in the world of abject stupidity, there are few fields that are not staffed with an army of professional extremists.
Phillip Lee, of His Way Out ministries will tell you, that not only is changing ones sexuality possible, but that he is living proof of it.
“I spent 17 years in what many refer to as the gay lifestyle,” Lee said. “I found out, like so many others, that to call homosexuality gay is a contradiction.”
No more of a contradiction than claiming faith is fact though, or so it would seem. I am sure I am just splitting hairs at this point… right.
Phillip runs his service out of a downtown Bakersfield office and claims to be working with 100 individuals dealing with identity issues and “sexual brokenness”, which isn’t an actual clinical term anymore than Taco Bell could be considered fine Mexican food. A quick search engine query will pull up several sites that link the creation and use of the term with churches and Christian ministry groups. The message here is pretty simple.
“When reality lets you down, make shit up.”
The problem with this type of activity is that these individuals are often dragged into these situations against their will, by poorly educated and ill informed parents. These “conversion therapy” procedures often do irreparable harm to their patients, causing immense self doubt, self hatred and shame. The process is so dangerous and controversial that the American Psychological Association has gone on record to oppose and discourage it, adding that no evidence has shown any such thing is possible, but plenty exists to demonstrate the harm it causes the patient.
Scientifically, there’s not enough evidence to measure the counseling effectiveness, said CSUB counseling psychology professor Kathleen Ritter, who says sexual orientation is a complex topic.
“The longest time that any population was followed in any study is six months so we don’t know if that initial ‘Oh I changed’ held.”
Ritter helped review the American Psychological Association’s guidelines http://www.apa.org/pi/lgbc/guidelines on sexual orientation and efforts to change it.
Through the guideline, the APA resolved homosexuality is not a mental disorder and mental health professionals should avoid telling clients they can change their sexual orientation through therapy or other treatments.
Ritter doesn’t suggest conversion therapy for her patients in her private practice, but says it would be unethical to persuade someone from using of it.
“We don’t want to look like we have the religious people on one end and psychologists on the other and that we’re fighting each other. Because that’s not true.” Ritter said.
I will take Kathleen Ritter’s last statement and expand upon it a little more. While this may not be about religion versus psychology, it has everything to do with reason and logic versus blind intolerance and ignorance. There is little point in arguing against that, but it still warrants being said.
Later on in the segment, Whitney Weddel, chair of the Bakersfield LGBTQ organization was introduced and offered another counter argument to the junk science that was being peddled.
Whitney goes on to say…
“For years in schools, people were forced to not be left handed. We know now these are wonderfully diverse ways of being normal,” said activist Whitney Weddell. “The 100 kids that come in with their parents, I wonder how many parents drag them in and are being forced to this therapy that is just a waste of time.”
There is currently a poll on the KGET website that asks its visitors to state whether they believe people can become “straight” through reparative therapy. The poll has gone up and down over the night, but there is still a dangerously high percentage of people who believe it’s possible. It is very unlikely that any of those people will be reading this, but in the off chance, let’s have a quick look at one of the many forms of this “healthy” and “loving” spiritual therapy.
If you can stand to watch the video long enough to get past her butchery of the English language, maybe you can answer me this. Is it wrong for me to find it so comical, that a people once bonded into slavery through the use of the Bible, are now using that same book to bond others?
If you visit, “His Way Out” ministries you will find a website that is in much need of a redesign and apparently money. The good lord seems to have the power to undo the mistakes he supposedly made, but lacks the ability to give his followers the money they need to continue. On closer inspection, there is plenty of false information on the website, as well as vague and conveniently shadow like speak about the actual process or outcome of these therapies. Outside of “working within the holy spirit of the lord”, there is little information on the actual process of turning one against their inner nature. It has long been believed that these therapies change no one, but are successful in shaming the individuals into denying their true identity.
It would seem to me that the Lord needs to worry less about homosexuals and more about those in need.
Might I suggest these people?
In the end, there is little to be said about this topic that is not already surrounding us. Discussing the pros and cons of these therapies is akin to weighing the downsides and upsides of being burned alive. Sure, you may survive the process, but you will never be yourself again.

Like I didn't have an irrational fear of flying before...
OK, so maybe that headline was a TAD bit over dramatic, but you clicked on the link and that seems to be the whole point behind Plane Stupids new ad campaign, in which they hope to levy guilt on those in support of airport expansion. The ad is controversial, but I wonder if it actually creates a bridge between plan travel and personal responsibility? My main problem with these ad is that they never seem to offer any alternatives, other than “stop doing A or B.” I am unsure as to what alternatives could have been offered in the place of air travel, but something would have been better than nothing. Maybe a polar bear flying an airship, blimp or inflated silicon boob? Something!
An airplane engine humming crescendos in the background as polar bears drop out of the sky, slam to the ground and meet their bloody deaths. At first you may be wondering, why am I being subjected to this brutal imagery?
It’s because Plane Stupid has a message for you, and whether it’s effective or not, it’s shocking enough to keep you watching. The video is a new promotional film from the British group that campaigns aggressively to end airport expansion, citing it as a prime culprit in the earth’s changing climate. According to the video, “An average European flight produces over 400 kg. of greenhouse gases for every passenger. That’s the weight of an adult polar bear.”
