So, if you have never heard about EXTRA LIFE, let me spin this track for you now:

Do you like Video Games? Do you like insomnia? Do you feel guilty about not doing anything to help the sick children of America? Boy do I have a solution for you!

Extra Life is an annual fundraiser to raise, you guessed it: funds and awareness! For The Children’s Miracle Network here in the states! Here’s what we, as participants, do:

1. We register ourselves with Extra Life & pick a local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital you’d like to send your donations to.
2. We pledge to stay awake and play video games for 24 hours straight.

WHAT?!?! Video Games?!?! You help sick children by playing video games?!?! Sometimes there are people in this country that get it right occasionally.

1. We set a goal amount that you would like to raise. (If you can raise more than your personal goal, of course that’s always a plus!)
2. We get people to sponsor you in any monetary amount they can offer. (typically $1 an hour is just fine.)
3. YOU STAY UP FOR 24 HOURS PLAYING VIDEO GAMES WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHER EXTRA LIFE GAMERS!
4. ALL raised funds go straight to the sponsored Hospital of our choice!

It’s quite fantastic! I’ve been fundraising for about a month now (the event is this Saturday) and I’m at 89% of my goal. It’s very exciting.
